A Regenerative Learning Community for Children
Sueños del Bosque is a regenerative learning community for children in Barichara, Colombia. We are preparing the next generation for a world that will be very different from what exists today – by nourishing the social and emotional development of entire families This includes a regenerative school for children that is inspired by Waldorf methods.
Children engage in play-based learning that is tailored to the unique personality and learning style of every child.
Deep nature connection that cultivates soils, native forest and healthy watersheds. And a territorial approach that is informed by the High Andes Tropical Dry Forest and local culture of this region.
We take a deeply contextual approach to the design of our philosophy. The three pillars are regeneration, holistic learning, and human flourishing. A child is not healthy if they lack the social and emotional supports to truly know themselves. This requires tailored learning for each individual body, mind, and spirit.

Children also cannot be healthy if their larger family and community environments lack vital nurturance and support. We work with families and offer community programs that place the children of our school within a larger framework of territorial regeneration.
The community cannot be healthy if the larger life community is degraded and in decline. We work with diverse local partners to restore the native tropical dry forest, bring health to rivers and streams, restore soils, and protect native biodiversity.
It takes a village to raise a child. In times of profound planetary change, it takes an entire territory. We partner with nature reserves, collaborate with teachers at rural schools, offer workshops in natural fibers and textile arts, engage in regenerative practices, and hold the wellbeing of our children in the heart of it all.
Sueños del Bosque contributes by offering community programs and developing pedagogical supports for educators throughout the territory surrounding Barichara. We benefit from the many other wonderful teachers and guides who inhabit this region with us.
Our vision is to bring rivers back to life, promote local food security with organic gardens and food forests, and help weave a tapestry of regenerative learning opportunities for all children who live here – not only those who enroll in our school.
