Learning Ecosystem
Sueños del Bosque is a learning ecosystem that offers a variety of community education programs. We believe the future of education is regenerative and interwoven with processes of territorial-scale regeneration. This is why we cultivate relationships with public schools, offer diverse community programs, and engage directly in the work of restoring forests and streams in our territory.
The smallest children among us need foundations that are healthy and strong – in a nurturing environment that focuses on human flourishing. Our “garden” is a space for kids between 4 and 6 years old that offers holistic supports for human development in the areas of emotional well-being, comfort and security, connection with nature, arts, and creative play.

We take seriously the huge challenges that young people must confront in the world today. This is why we chose not to have a “primary school” and instead are structuring activities for children between 7-10 years old to create a community garden, learn ecological design and natural construction, all while achieving their learning objectives that map onto requirements in public schools for the second and third grade.

Families from all over the world can join us for these special activities that we schedule during the vacation breaks of public schools in both Colombia and abroad. This program is a living laboratory for joyful learning and community connection. The children are immersed in the magic and mystery of the Tropical Dry Forest through theater, arts, movement, and play. We explore the territory – both outwardly in the natural world and within ourselves.

We want to see more flourishing human beings in the world. This is why we incubated a pilot program in the public schools about healthy emotional development, body connection, and our capacities to care for the natural world. FloreSeremos began in two schools – one urban and one rural – with plans to expand in the next year to several others. Our vision is for this to become part of the public school system in the future through professional training opportunities with public school teachers.

This community program brings the regenerative pedagogy we have developed in our learning ecosystem to children between the ages of 7 and 10 years old with a focus on learning about the unique cultural and ecological qualities of our territory. Children practice art, theater, and English as an immersive experience while also hiking throughout the territory and participating in workshops about local craft skills from artisans who have deep ancestry here.
